Cheehoo! It took me a while, but I finally figured out how to film, edit & post video action of my adventures on to YouTube. This video is the first of many! From now on I will attempt to video all the fun & education that is my daily life for all of you to enjoy.
Apparently being passionate about what you do & who you are is admirable & entertaining, so I shall make sure to include plant knowledge, culinary insights & general overall inspiration for those looking to heal themselves, have balance or just plain enjoy life!
I love my life…
That statement may not be profound for most of you, but for me, it means the world. The majority of my life I did not want to be me. Living within my own skin was like being trapped inside a publicly-displayed glass box just sitting there in the sun while I screamed, going unnoticed by the sea of apathetic people around me.
Everyday is a weekend round these parts. Why’s that; you ask? Well, when it’s rainbows & sprinkles on the inside; everything around ya just sparkles!
What we see is what we get & I am happy to know this before the age of 30. The busier I get the, the happier I am. This is not to say I have the tale-tail signs of being a workaholic, I’m just enthusiastic about getting paid for what I love to do.
As the flu makes its rounds & so do the April (now leading into May) showers, we all take the time we need to heal ourselves.
Sometimes, we can use a little help though maybe some fresh orange juice, hot soup or just a ton of rest. Today, inspired by the sicky-season & my desire to camp once more along Hawaii’s pristinely captivating & healing valleys & shores is what I call “Super Hawaiian Surprise Love Pie.”
What joy it is to find our way… How had we lost it in the first place? Well, the infinite distractions, cumbersome logistics & life as we know it came around & diverted our focus, my friends & foes.
Ah, but as the sun sparkled through the foliage so high in the sky, the joy was rekindled yesterday as I sat enjoying the luxurious waterfall I called home.
Today was rough… Internal flares of Crohn’s are far worse than the external ones: the rashes, angular chelitis & other questionably temporary skin ailments, that everyone can see & recognize as a symptom of illness.
They feel like defeat. Failure. Crashing down a mountain that took decades to climb. It basically sucks. Although these occur far less than before, maybe once every 3-4 months, they still are surprisingly… Defeating.
Lots of custom love going on around here but a bit of relaxation too. It’s just about Spring time so I’ve been dedicated to cleaning house & business, creating some new flavors & just enjoying some time to myself, an art I am learning still yet!
The next newsletter is in the works, so is some video action, & possibly more social media posts. For today though I smile & embrace a day to catch up at a slower pace than usual. Plus enjoy the many photos I’ve taken over the past few weeks.
Spring break for most folks means bikinis, cocktails & fun, fun, fun! Then there’s the folks that tend to your household & pets’ needs while you are away. That person is yours truly, as I moonlight as a house-sitter/animal-sitter.
Although its been a long couple of weeks of quadruple walks twice a day & lots of chicken stock & kale smoothies for hungry pups, I found some time to have a little fun.
Pictures for days but no time to write about them just yet! Busy couple of weeks here so check back soon for the prolific written tales… Mahalo nui loa for your support, understanding & love
Life. Is. Good. But that don’t mean go Pollyanna!
Sunday hike… That part alone was enough to make me smile! Then we get down to the destination & o.m.g… Amazingly spectacular waterfalls! Yes plural, many!!!
Na O’hia Falls also known as Kalihi Ice Ponds was the perfect playground for taking water playing shots today & of course jumping from the sheer cliff rocks on the side.
